    From the Vatican Museums, exit the main entrance and head towards Viale Vaticano. Turn left and walk along Viale Vaticano until you reach the Ottaviano metro station. Take the Metro Line A (the red line) towards Anagnina. After 6 stops, get off at Termini station. At Termini, transfer to Metro Line B (the blue line) towards Rebibbia. After 4 stops, get off at Tiburtina station. From Tiburtina, exit the station and take bus number 440 towards 'Piazza Trento'. Get off at 'Piazza Trento' stop. The Villa d'Este will be a short walk from there.

  • Bus

    From the Vatican Museums, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 81 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. After 10 stops, get off at 'Piazza della Repubblica'. From there, transfer to bus number 334 towards 'Tivoli'. After approximately 25 minutes and 8 stops, get off at 'Piazza Trento'. Villa d'Este is located right at this square.

    From the Vatican Museums, walk to Ottaviano metro station and take the Metro Line A towards Anagnina. After 6 stops, get off at Termini station. From Termini, look for the train services heading towards Tivoli (typically Trenitalia services). Board the train to Tivoli, which is about a 30-minute ride. Once you arrive at Tivoli train station, exit and walk towards 'Piazza Trento'; it should take around 15 minutes to reach Villa d'Este.
