Walking
Start from the center of Assomada, at the main square. From the square, head southwest on Avenida 1 de Maio towards the intersection with Rua de São João. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road, and take the right path that leads onto Rua 5 de Julho. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with National Highway. At this point, turn left onto the National Highway (EN1) and continue walking for about 3 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and a few eateries along the way. As you approach Cidade Velha, keep an eye out for signs or locals pointing towards Pelourinho. The landmark will be on your right side, marked by the notable structure that serves as a historical site.

From Assomada, head to the nearest bus stop located at the main square. Look for a bus heading towards Cidade Velha. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cidade Velha, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, walk towards the National Highway. Head southwest and look for the signs indicating Pelourinho. It is about a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal. As you walk, the historical site will be on your right.
