    Getting There

    Walking

    From the Sistine Chapel, exit through the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once outside, turn left and walk towards the main street, Viale Vaticano. Continue straight until you reach the Ottaviano Metro Station. Take Line A (the orange line) towards Anagnina. Get off at the fifth stop, which is the Termini Station. At Termini, transfer to Line FL5 (the regional train) towards Civitavecchia. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Santa Severa station. Once you exit the train station, follow the signs to Santa Severa Castle, which is about a 15-minute walk from the station.

    Public Transport

    Start at the Sistine Chapel and exit through the Vatican Museums' main entrance. Walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 492 towards Santa Marinella. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the Santa Severa stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk following the signs to Santa Severa Castle.
